Taking a Scientific Approach to Learning and Teaching Science

The College of Science Distinguished Lecturer presentation is the Department of Physics Colloquium event for the week.

The College of Science is thrilled to welcome Carl Wieman, a Stanford physicist and Corvallis native, as its Fall Distinguished Lecturer. Dr. Wieman will discuss “Taking a scientific approach to learning and teaching science (and most other subjects)” November 21, 2016, at 5:30 pm in Oregon State University’s LaSells Stewart Center in the Construction & Engineering Hall. A reception honoring Dr. Wieman will be held at 5:00 pm.

Wieman holds a joint appointment as Professor of Physics and of the Graduate School of Education at Stanford University. He has conducted extensive experimental research in both atomic physics and science education at the university level.
