Organic semiconductors have shown promise in a wide range of applications from display technologies to photovoltaics. In particular, solution processable materials allow for ease of manufacturing and can be combined in composite systems which can have drastically different optoelectronic properties. The study of the mechanisms underlying desirable optoelectronic properties can lead to the development of improved materials. I will present several approaches to studying composite systems and finding promising new materials and combinations of materials.
