Particle physics has been a data intensive science for over 50 years, going back to the days of bubble chamber photographs. The past 30 years have seen massive increases in data as the improved technology and decreased cost to collect huge data samples has made it possible to analyze these datasets. In this way the great discoveries and detailed studies in particle Physics have been made possible. In this seminar I will describe some of the Salient features of particle physics experiments, how the data is collected and analyzed, and some prospects for the future.
