Devoted to improving the departmental climate for all students educated and employed by our department, with emphasis on the graduate student experience.
The Graduate Student Council (GSC) exists to serve the needs of graduate students in the physics department regardless of your research focus. We act as the mediators of the department to bring forth the questions, concerns, and grievances experienced by graduate students while performing their duties. To do so, we work with an elected faculty liaison to ensure that parties are fairly represented in any process. The GSC also works to provide tutorials and guidance on the Ph.D. and masters processes to help students reach key milestones with success. Overall, our goal is to improve the departmental climate for all students educated and employed by our departments by improving the dialogue between faculty and students.
It is our firm conviction that we will be a stronger department only when we all work together toward our common goal of advancing knowledge as students, teachers, and researchers alike.
