The Effective Practices for Physics Programs (EP3) project is an ambitious new initiative by the American Physical Society in collaboration with the American Association of Physics Teachers to support departments with the consolidated experience and insight of leaders and researchers in physics into how physics programs run best.  This colloquium will offer a personal view of the genesis and development of the project and take the audience on a brief tour of the EP3 Guide and APS initiatives to support its use.

David Craig is Associate Professor of Practice in Physics at Oregon State University, and Associate Head of Physics. He is co-chair of the EP3 initiative and has served on the APS Committee on Education. He has research interests in several areas of theoretical physics, including Quantum Cosmology. He has an A.B. in Physics from Princeton University and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He was Professor and Chair of the Physics Department at Le Moyne College before joining OSU in 2017.

Participate by Zoom or join colleagues in Wngr 149. Masks required. Please ask people about their social distance preferences before seating yourself next to someone. The colloquium speaker will be presenting remotely.
