Needed for labs (e.g. in the Paradigms, PH 111):
  • Logger Pro
  • Microsoft Office
Needed for the Paradigms:
  • Wolfram Mathematica
  • Maple
  • Quicktime for Windows
  • VLC media player
  • Java for PhET simulations
  • Browser for web browsing (also needed for everything else)
Needed for PH 36x:
  • Python 3 (configured to be in the path) with matplotlib, numpy and scipy
  • Atom (the text editor), configured with the atom-python-run package to run python programs when F5 is hit.
  • For the pair programming in PH 36x, I think the best and easiest approach might be a local login on each machine dedicated to that class.
Best to have even though it might not be needed:
  • MATLAB
  • R for Windows, RStudio
  • 7-Zip
