Syllabus

Advanced Computational Science Lab

PH 467 /567 (Spring 2005)

The individual labs given here constitute the syllabus. Typically, a student will cover three labs in one quarter. The exact number and choice of labs is decided upon at the beginning of each term based upon the student's background and interests. If a student is not familiar with Fortran programming, then they will start with some of the Fortran labs.

All labs come from graduate-level research and are thus appropriate for either PH 467 or PH 567 students. However, some background in scattering theory is required for the labs dealing with meson scattering and exotic hydrogen.

The additional teaching goals for PH 567 students include:

  • Meson Scattering from Nuclei (1.0)
  • Exotic Hydrogen in Momentum Space (1.0)
    • Landau, Rowe
    • Writeup (pdf)
    • Fortran Code,
