Purpose

The Department of Physics has a small observational optical astronomy program that provides viewing nights for the astronomy courses offered by the department and for all interested people. There are undergraduate research opportunities based on the use of departmental telescopes, Pine Mountain Observatory and data mining of observational databases.

Announcements

  • Viewing opportunities are expected during the week of October 18 - 22.
  • If you wish to be notified of viewing opportunities and activities of the optical astronomy group, add your name to the optical astronomy mail list.
