2006-Dec-27Congratulations to Prof. Rubin Landau, who has received a 2006 Undergraduate Computational Engineering and Sciences Award from the Krell Institute. Landau was recognized for publication of "A First Course in Scientific Computing: Symbolic, Graphic, and Numeric Modeling Using Maple, Java, Mathematica and Fortran90." This work introduces concepts of computational engineering and science using three programming paradigms, with examples from physics, math and other disciplines. The award was one of just three made in the nation.
